My schedule has not allowed time for blogging in the last few weeks.

Pics for Flyers and Phantoms are on Flickr.  Please feel free to look.

Next reports will be Flyers prospect camp sometime this summer.

Ok folks last chance to get your tickets before the event on Sunday.

Ok so there is not much pro hockey going on right now.  This does not mean that there are not still opportunities to see and support our favorite players.

Yesterday I went to King of Prussia Mall to see Riley Cote at the grand opening on Skin Industries store.  For those of you out of town Flyers fans.  King of Prussia mall is one of the largest malls in the United States.  I am fortunate that it has always been the closest mall to my house and am slightly spoiled at the selection available.

Riley and his wife Holly were very gracious and talked to us and took pictures aside from the autographing.

Here are my pictures as always.

First THANK YOU ERICA!!!!!!!
I am very glad I got to go to the game.

Shout outs to “hell if I know” Sorry gang I didn’t come visit.
Sandy and the kids.
Theresa and Caroline
Brooke and Karen,
HF
Rosanne, Joyce and Steve
Joe and Maureen

I got to the game as the Flyers came out for warmups.  That did not allow me to get down to where Erica was behind the bench.   I headed for Kristin’s normal spot behind the net for my warmup pictures.

My first pic from warmups

The thing that I noticed was a lack of smiles during warmups.  If you have ever looked at any of my pics you know I am always trying to catch the brief smile or laugh that may occur.  These pics are generally labeled as Happy Camper pics (thanks Richie).  I had none of these tonight.  This team was all business from the moment they stepped out onto the ice.

My favorite warmup pics of the night

There was alot of signs tonight.  Slightly biased I like Erica’s Knuble we are here sign.

Erica went and took our seats.  Ironically the seats are in my normal section.  Which yes my section I think one of the rowdiest ones in the whole Wachovia center.  Again were having issues with Devils fans being in our section.  I honestly felt bad for the lone devils fan having stuff tossed at him etc.  I realize my section will never change the rowdiness is part of the charm.

Erica didn’t bring her camera out at all for game time.  I took some limited pics.
I liked the fan centric opening.  Pics in the set for it start here.  I didn’t take video cause I knew I wouldn’t ever have time to get it posted for it to be relevant.

The crowd was really into this game and ready for it to start.  The banger things they handed out seemed to be a huge hit for noise.  The crowd while not as loud as I had ever heard it was still very loud and trying their best to show why Philly fans are so intimidating.

The Flyers first goal which was announced as Hartnell then changed to Umberger was just huge.  The building rocked hard from that the fans felt they had made a good impact on this team.

The team on the ice they looked as solid as I think they have all season.  A very good and aggressive forecheck with lots of physicality.

2nd Intermission Erica and I went down o the Flyers charity basket auction.  We walked all through and took pics.  We both bidded on Baskets.  I originally bid on Downie and Gator.  I won Gator.  Erica Bid on Thoresen but did not win.  Theresa bid on Upshall and won his basket.  The baskets were extremely impressive.  Biron’s was very cool.

I enjoy seeing these types of things gives you a slight glimpse at the personalities of the Players.  Here are some of the contents of the baskets.

Due to our bidding and really wanting what we bid on.  Erica and I strolled the first level concourse and watched the 2nd period in the Pavilion.  That of course caused us to take this pic

After getting confirmation that Theresa and I had won our respective baskets it was back up to the seats to watch the third period.

What a period it was!  Goals by Upshall and Lupul mere seconds apart was just absolutely phenomenal.  To see Brodeur get the hook was priceless.

The crowd was revived and rowdy as ever with this score.

The Flyers hung in there and Biron got a shut out.

What a great game and experience.

Then it was off to pick up my new basket which btw looks like this

Then to outside to wait for the players to stop.

There was just a ton of people out there waiting.  I don’t think in all the nights I have waited outside that I have seen that many people.

The one nice lady had this sign which she nicely held up for the Devils bus as it passed

Thank you To Riley Cote, Randy Jones, Steve Downie (sorry Steve we wanted to give you that),  Denis Tolpeko for all stopping and visiting with us post game.

Next game boys and girls for me is Game one of the Playoffs.  (well at least for the Flyers anyway)

Thank you to The Flyers Fan Club for Today’s road Trip it was rocking!

Thanks to my Dad and everyone who went on the trip that was so much fun.

Thanks to Julie for coming down to say hi.

I left my house @ 7am to pick up my Dad and be at the Flyers Skate Zone by 8:45.
This was a bus trip we arrived at the Verizon center around 11:20 or so.  The Flyers fan Club had lunch in the Greene Turtle with the Caps fan club.  It was cool to meet everyone.  Char from the Caps Fan Club did a great job organizing the meeting.

OK I had never been to the Verizon Center before.  I didn’t walk all the way around but it seemed pretty cool.  I liked our lower level seats.  I apologize that the net is in the way in lots of pics but what can you do. I definitely enjoyed seeing a game here and would recommend it to anyone.

The game got started and AO hit Coburn and my Dad leans over and asks me am I sure that guy shouldn’t be in a Flyers jersey.   I said yup he is the one with the big contract for 13 years.  He said oh.

The Flyers had a kinda slow start in the first for about 5 min then it just got kicked in.

Other then the Fan Club group which half sat lower level and half sat upper. There was just a ton of other Flyers fans.  I would say about 25% of the arena was Flyers fans.

At the first intermission there was a funny video on the screen where the Caps all got asked who was the “ladies man” of the team.  The team for the most part answered Brooks Laich.  Brooks said no one was really avail to be a ladies man.  AO of course had the best answer.  “HI Ladies I ‘m here”

The 2nd period started and the Flyers looked like no nap would ocur today.  Jason Smith fought and was gone for 17 Min! I got video see the link above.

Smith’s presence on the Blue line was sorely mossed as the Caps got back into the game.

2nd intermission Theresa who I was sitting with Ran into Lasse Kukkonen and Rory Fitzpatrick in the concourse area.  She had run into Coatsey during the 1st intermission.

The third period was tough.  Then the Flyers got some goals to give a nice cushion.  The caps seemed to still have too much pressure and were working hard to try to make something happen but the Flyers got it done where it counted.

We took a group photo and then got the bus back.  It was a very long and fun day.
I got souvenirs to boot.  With Our tix we got Caps hats and being one of the first however many into the game I got a caps scarf.

ok good night.  Next report Sunday 1/20 vs Sens

Are you kidding? Of course I took pics.

Phantoms won 6-2

It is slightly addictive sitting in the front row against the glass and then to sit next to the bench too well you can tell I was truly camera happy here.

The game was really good.  I would not have know that it was the Phantoms 3rd game in 3 days.  They had great jump early and it was 3-0 at the end of the first.

Scott Munroe really didn’t have that much work and the majority of the work he did have were not high quality shots.  The best shots came towards the end of the game.  The Sound Tigers really turned it on and scored 2 goes towards the end of the third but their comeback was a bit late.

The Phantoms D looked really good with the exception of one little stretch in the 2nd where outlet passes just were not working out too well.
